Funding Provided By...
The Teacher Resource Bank is made possible with funding provided by the US Education Department Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant, Preparing Tomorrow's Teacher to use Technology Grant, and resources provided by Valdosta State University. The US DOE Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant provides funding through the Georgia Systemic Teacher Education Program (GSTEP) for equipment, software, programming, design, and development support. The VLRB began as a regional initiative at Valdosta State University, but has been expanded considerably due to collaboration with the University of Georgia and Albany State University as a statewide resource. The US DOE PT3 Grant provides funding for developing materials to be placed within the VLRB including: video capture and editing for best practices video streaming, virtual reality modeling language and other VR materials for training and classroom use, technology integration materials, assistive technology materials and training, and the video conferencing project. The focus of the project is to develop these materials for use by preservice teachers. Valdosta State University provides a variety of resources including: telecommunication lines for access, a video streaming server, servers for housing data and web pages, and newly renovated development lab in the College of Education. The lab was recently equipped with powerful computers and the latest software. We will be using the lab to provide space, technology, and training for faculty development of video materials to be streamed online. X3D, QTVR, and VRML development will also be supported in the lab.
